West Ham United joint-chairman David Sullivan says the Hammers are not expecting to name Sam Allardyce's replacement for a week at least but has revealed another new signing should be announced within 24 hours.

Sullivan and co-chairman David Gold are currently in the process of seeking a replacement for Allardyce after it was announced the 60-year-old's contract would not be renewed at the end of the season.

However, despite the fact pre-season begins in three weeks' time after qualifying for the Europa League qualifying rounds, Sullivan says there is no rush to find his successor.

He told the club website: "I am dedicating every waking minute to recruiting the best available manager to drive our club forwards.

"It is a constantly changing landscape but we are being absolutely thorough in our search, by speaking to representatives of a number of managers and doing our own due diligence on each one.

"Given that, I am not expecting us to make an appointment for at least a week as we must do everything we can to get this appointment right.

"What is clear from our discussions so far is that this job is attracting names it wouldn't have done five years ago. When you combine our move to one of the best stadiums in Europe in 16 months' time with the board's ambitious vision and significant transfer budget you have an extremely exciting prospect for the right man."

And following the signing of goalkeeper Darren Randolph ahead of his contract expiration at Birmingham City, Sullivan says another new face is just around the corner.

He said: "In addition, I continue to work with our player recruitment team to identify players to improve the squad. We hope to announce our first signing in the next 24 hours and follow that up with a big name in the next two-three weeks."
