West Ham United and Crystal Palace have are facing the prospect of a tug-of-war to sign Paris St-Germain midfielder Yohan Cabaye.

Despite signing for the French champions for £19 million only 18 months ago, Cabaye scored just once in 39 appearances and has been told by PSG that he is free to leave if a club meets the asking price of £10 million.

Both West Ham and Palace are understood to be willing to pay the fee, and the player may end up having the final say.

Cabaye, who is searching for  first-team football in order to secure a place in France’s Euro 2016 squad, is no stranger to life in the Premier League and his last game for Newcastle United was at West Ham’s Upton Park in 2013. Cabaye scored twice as Newcastle won 3-1.

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew is said to maintain a strong relationship with Cabaye, the pair working together on Tyneside for almost three years following his switch from Lille in 2011.
