West Ham United appear to have edged ahead of Everton in the race to sign Juventus defender Angelo Ogbonna.
The Daily Mail are reporting Ogbonna’s agent has spoken to both clubs and the Italian is likely to come to a decision in the coming days, but the Hammers remain confident that they have the upper hand.
West Ham’s interest in the defender first became known last month when West Ham co-chairman David Gold mistakenly uploaded a picture of Ogbonna when announcing the signing of Pedro Obiang on Twitter.
The Italian international, 27, has struggled to hold down a starting place at Juventus in his two years there, and the Old Lady are believed to be willing to sell.
Ogbonna is likely to cost around £8 million with add-ons.
