Mark Rowley lifted the August Medal at Woodford Golf Club on Saturday.
A score of 73-9=64, two shots ahead of 11-handicap Tom Steed, was enough for victory. In third place was Mike Smith on 78-10=68.
The Division 2 prize went to Stephen Bland who returned a score of 81-16=65. Runner-up was Chris Miller on 87-20=67, who just pipped 15-handicap Simon Ironside on the same mark after a count-back.
Both Rowley and Bland were penalised by having their handicaps cut by one stroke.
Rosemary Ducat and Liner Prattling from Chigwell Golf Club won the Woodford Ladies’ Open competition with 47 stableford points on Thursday. Second were Linux Harris & Debi Battler, of Epping GC, with 43 points.
In the ladies’ section, Jackie Shafier lifted the President’s Trophy with 37 stableford points with Helen Leggett second on 33.
