There was a strong east London flavour in the Orion’s Forest Five Series final standings.

Thomas Grimes managed to secure himself first place overall after the three five mile races, securing the win with a third place finish in Saturday's final race of the competition.

Finishing with an overall time of 85.42 across the three events, Grimes finished ahead of club-mate Patrick Brown (86.35), Mark Boulton (88.03) and Alex Day (90.25) who came in second, third and fourth respectively after three events.

In fact, two more East London Runners finished in the top ten – Ciaran Canavan in seventh and Spencer Evans in ninth – and Sarah Burns and Fiona Day were the Vet 35 and 55 winners.

Honourable mentions also go to Andy Kumar (31.53), Ciaran Canavan (32.11), Spencer Evans (33.12), Karen Levison (34.08), James Creed (34.19), Ramesh Pala (36.45), Keiran Brown (38.54), Sarah Burns (39.18), Celia Payaneeandee (39.51), Frank Brownlie (41.09), Fiona Day (43.56) and Amita Morse (48.07) who finished the third race with impressive times.

Russell Price won the Barking park run in a time of 18.16, whilst Mark Wyatt (18.31) was fifth at Hackney and Scott McMillan (19.02) fifth at Wanstead.
