Leyton Orient head coach Ian Hendon has confirmed the club have not offered Kevin Nolan a contract.

Reports claimed the League Two leaders withdrew a two-year contract offer because the former West Ham United midfielder took too long to decide on his future.

But Hendon rubbished this story and insists the club are not in a position to offer Nolan, who has been training with the club, a lucrative contract.

The head coach said:  "He hasn't turned down a contract because nothing has been offered to him. He is enjoying his football even though he is not playing at the moment.

"The fact is the only way Kevin could play for Orient is if he played for nothing because we can't afford to pay him."
