Redbridge picked up their first win in 13 league and cup fixtures on Tuesday by beating Arlesey Town 2-0 to advance in the FA Trophy.

The Motormen, who had lost 11 games in succession prior to Saturday's 1-1 draw at Southern League Division One Central outfit Arlesey, advanced to the first qualifying round of the FA Trophy thanks to goals from William Drake and Jay Knight.

It was Knight who forced a replay on Saturday afternoon as the Motormen put a welcome stop to their losing run at Arlesey.

On Saturday Dave Ross and Ricky Eaton's side will host Wroxham in Isthmian Division One North.

Waltham Abbey were knocked out of the Alan Turvey Trophy in a thrilling 4-3 defeat against Premier Division Wingate & Finchley.

Trailing 4-1 at one stage to Simon Lane's high-flying Blues, the Abbots rallied and scored twice in a minute after the break to make a far better fist of the contest.

Wingate skipper Marc Weatherstone put the visitors in front after 26 minutes but Piers Wixon soon levelled for hosts Abbey.

But the Step Three side took control after the break and goals from Lee Barney (2) and Karl Oliyide in the space of eight minutes gave the visitors a commanding lead.

Abbey refused to roll over for the north London outfit, though, and efforts from Christian Assombalonga and Wixon again reduced the arrears.

The Abbots return to league action on Saturday with Witham Town visiting Capershotts.
