Old Loughtonians eased to a 5-1 home win over Ipswich in East League Premier Division A on Saturday.

The breakthrough came just after the 20 minute mark when Loughts produced a lightning counter-attack to put the home side ahead. Will Hopkins fired in a shot which was parried and midfielder Harry Kempe scored the rebound from close range.

The hosts doubled their lead when Luke Mepham beat a couple of defenders and smashed the ball home.

Old Loughts quickly added a third when recent signing Ross Hetem produced an unstoppable drag flick for his first goal for the club.

The side made it 4-0 after Martyn Lear drove into the heart of the Ipswich defence and the ball popped out to Jonny Sloman for a neat finish.

Ipswich got on the scoresheet in the last ten minutes through former Loughts player James Southgate before the hosts sealed the win through Joe Nelmes.

Old Loughts ladies battled to a 2-1 home win over Cambridge Uni in East League Ladies Premier.

A perfectly timed pass found Jenny Farrow on the penalty spot and she calmly slotted home the hosts' opener.

It got even better for Old Loughts after another incisive team move set up Farrow for her second of the game.

A rare moment of defensive indecision enabled the visitors to pull one back but Old Loughts held out to claim the victory.

The side face table toppers West Herts this weekend.

Crostyx suffered a 4-2 home defeat to Upminster in East League Division Two South.

The visitors took the lead but this was cancelled out by Matt Rowland with his seventh goal in three matches.

But Upminster established a 3-1 lead in the second half before Freddie Meier poked home for Crostyx.

However the away side added a fourth goal to seal the points.

Crostyx men's seconds cruised to a 4-0 victory over Saffron Walden.

The thirds romped to a 5-1 win at Havering.

Crostyx opened the scoring through Vishal Mayo before the hosts equalised before the break.

But the visitors stepped on the gas in the second half and regained the lead through Mayo.

A four-man team move was then finished off smartly by Matt Willoboughy.

Crostyx scored again through Willoboughy and Ellis Foot netted their fifth of the match.

The men's fourths fought back to claim a 2-1 win over Brentwood.

The side trailed at the break but goals from Jaspal Channa and Dave Fulton turned the contest around.

Lou Feldman scored a hat-trick while Kat Hawes and Anna Lawes also netted.

The ladies seconds were beaten 4-0 at Colchester fourths.

Crostyx ladies thirds battled back for a 3-3 draw with East London fifths.

Their opponents led 2-0 before Caroline Hubbard pulled one back.

East London scored again but second-half efforts from May Martindale and Saskia Murphy salvaged a draw.

Wapping edged to a 1-0 win over St Albans in their top of the table clash.
