FC Leytonstone progressed into round two of the London Challenge Cup with a 3-2 win against Yalowa at Leyton County on Sunday.

Having seen their last match abandoned two weeks ago due to a player injury, Leytonstone were fully aware of the quality last season's finalists possessed.

Leytonstone got the perfect start when after five minutes Sergio Garcia latched onto a Daniel Owusu cross to put the Lemons in front.

That goal saw Leytonstone grow into the game and after 17 minutes, Ibrahim Khan made it 2-0 after a dazzling run from the middle of the park resulted in a well-taken goal.

However, just before half-time Yalowa halved the deficit after some sloppy defending as Leytonstone failed to clear in the 18 yard box.

After the break Leytonstone lifted their performance but Yalowa were still posing a threat and with 20 minutes to go they levelled.

Ricky Moremoney lost the ball in the middle of the park and the Yalowa number nine produced a fierce strike to beat Leytonstone keeper Kevin Rabe.

Things when from bad to worse for the Lemons as right-back Daniel Owusu was then sent off for a second yellow.

Stand in mangers Sab Bham and Nazim Mahmood made some tactical changes, replacing Junaid Tariq with Jordan Dujon. And it was that substitution which turned the game in Leytonstone's favour, Ibrahim Khan's precise pass finding Garcia, who unselfishly squared the ball to Dujon to tap in the winner.
