Leyton Orient player-manager Kevin Nolan made his first start for the club in today's Final Third Development league 4-1 win over Southend United.
Nolan played the first 45 minutes while recent signings Shaun Brisley and Nicky Hunt were also handed chances to impress in the side.
The hosts made a bright start and took the lead through a Jordan Williams own goal. It was 2-0 after 13 minutes when Blair Turgott set up Scott Kashket for the second goal.
But Southend pulled a goal back before the break through a Jason Williams effort.
Orient added a third goal after 68 minutes when a fierce strike from Sandro Semedo beat the goalkeeper.
Sam Ling came off the bench and headed in the fourth goal for the hosts with just over ten minutes remaining.
