Epping Forest District Swimming Club's Michael Sharp and Amelia Peddle won bronze medals at the 2016 Essex County Championships, held at the London Aquatic Centre on Saturday.

Sharp, 15, was a medallist in the 50m butterfly with a time of 29.94 seconds and Peddle took bronze in both the 50m back (32.41) and 50m free (28.95).

There was also a sixth-place finish for Sharp in the 50m freestyle while 12-year-old Lukas Caci came eighth in the same event in a time of 31.52.

Peddle also placed fifth in the 50m butterfly and tenth in the 50m breaststroke events.

The club’s success continued with 13-year-old Roisin Clifford coming sixth in the 50m butterfly and tenth in the 50m free and 50m backstroke.

Katie Whiffin, 17, came fourth in the 50m breaststroke while Dora Zhou, 16, also finished fourth in the 50m backstroke.

Isabelle Creasey, 12, came home in eighth in the 50m breaststroke.

The 9-10 year-old boys relay team of Jack Caci, Joe Dooley, Karl Erkslan and Jack Carr placed seventh in the 4x50m free relay and 9th in the medley relay.
