Former O's chief executive Matt Porter has described Leyton Orient as a club being brought to its knees with player-manager Kevin Nolan poised to leave.

Nolan has been given less than three months in charge but owner Francesco Becchetti has already decided to dispense with his most recent appointment.

It is expected head of recruitment Rob Gagliardi and operations manager Vito Miceli will take charge of the side at home to Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday with Becchetti picking the team.

Since Becchetti's arrival in the summer of 2014 there have been no fewer than six different management teams at Brisbane Road.

Writing on Twitter, Porter conveyed the feelings of many fans by criticising the way in which the club is being run under Becchetti.

Russell Slade was in charge when Becchetti first bought the club but he was given an ultimatum by the Italian and the O's boss resigned before joining Cardiff City.

Kevin Nugent briefly took over on a temporary basis before sporting director Mauro Milanese had a short time in charge.

This was followed by the appointment of Fabio Liverani but it proved a disastrous move and Orient were relegated from League One last season.

The next incumbent last summer was Ian Hendon with the former Orient player dismissed in January.

Nolan was brought in on a two-and-a-half year contract but his exit is expected to be confirmed imminently after less than three months in charge.
