Leyton Orient owner Francesco Becchetti has explained the reason behind his decision to remove Kevin Nolan as manager.
Nolan was forced to step down from his position after less than three months in charge this week after a run of one point from four games.
Becchetti recorded a video message to the fans calling for their support in the final games of the season.
The owner told the club website: "Our recent decision regarding Kevin Nolan's status as player-manager was taken because we believe Kevin can make a very good impact as a player if he is free of the additional burden of managerial duties.
"Kevin is still learning as a manager but his experience as a player is second to none. I want Kevin's focus on the pitch with the team at the moment."
Orient fans have planned a protest against the way the club is being run at tomorrow's game at home to Dagenham & Redbridge.
Becchetti said: "We have a massive derby match on Saturday. I look forward to a strong finish to the season. For the first time in two years I ask you to stay close to the guys and to make them feel your huge support."
