Interim boss Andy Hessenthaler says Leyton Orient need to take the big chance they still have to reach the League Two play-offs.

Saturday’s dramatic 3-2 victory at home to Dagenham & Redbridge pushed Orient up to tenth in the table, just two points away from the coveted play-off zone with four games left.

Their challenge will continue tonight when fellow promotion chasers Plymouth Argyle, currently fifth in the division, travel to Brisbane Road.

Looking ahead to the Pilgrims’ visit, Hessenthaler said the O’s must make improvements from the latest win, while keeping their eye on the prize.

Hessenthaler said: “Plymouth are a good side.

“I’ve been involved in a few games against them over the last couple of years at different clubs and they are very drilled and it won’t be easy for us on Tuesday.

“We’ve got to dust up on a few things from today’s game with the two goals we conceded, but the pleasing thing is we went out there and gave all for the shirt.

“We've got to start thinking about Tuesday. There is a chance we can still get into the play-offs and we have to stay focused.”

He went on to say Mathieu Baudry is likely to be involved against Argyle, despite sustaining a cut to his head, which Hessenthaler jokingly put down to the Frenchman not having “rhino skin” like his.

Nigel Atangana picked up a hamstring injury against the Daggers, forcing him off the pitch, but Hessenthaler said he will hopefully be available for selection.

He is also optimistic about Sammy Moore possibly making a return after suffering from virus, although he confirmed Jobi McAnuff is set to be out for a few more weeks.

Ahead of Saturday’s game, the club said Kevin Nolan had sustained an ankle injury and Hessenthaler said they will be continuing to monitor this ahead of Argyle’s visit.
