West Ham goalkeeper Darren Randolph played the full 90 minutes for the Republic of Ireland, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Sweden in their Euro 2016 clash yesterday.

Norwich City’s Wes Hoolahan had put the Irish in front with a crisp half-volley just after half-time following good work from Seamus Coleman, but they couldn’t hold on to their lead, as Ciaran Clark diverted Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s cross into his own net with 20 minutes to play.

Randolph was largely untroubled during the game, however, he did pull off a superb one-handed save to prevent Clark from putting through his own net from a corner, before Emil Forsberg sent the rebound wide.

Martin O’Neil’s side are back in action on Saturday, when they take on Belgium in Bordeaux.

Hammers defender Angelo Ogbonna was an unused substitute for Italy, who beat Belgium 2-0.

Emanuele Giaccherini and Southampton striker Graziano Pelle scored the goals for Antonio Conte’s men, who top Group E after their victory.

Ogbonna will be hoping to get some match action when the Azzurri face Sweden in Toulouse on Friday.

Dmitri Payet will be back in action tomorrow, with France taking on Albania at 8pm.

The 29-year-old was the match winner against Romania on Friday, arrowing a powerful effort into the top corner.
