Dimitri Payet believes France can be a match for any team at Euro 2016.

The West Ham forward has impressed throughout the tournament scoring two goals in three games in the group stages.

The 29-year-old told the West Ham United website he feels the passionate support from the fans can spur them on to do great things after their victory over Republic of Ireland.

He added: “When we play our way we are difficult to stop.

“Our fans were great – even when we were losing, they were still behind us.

“It is the worst thing that could have happened to down 1-0 with a penalty early on, in the first half we got a bit annoyed and started playing their game.

“They tried to gain a bit of time and we wasted a lot of energy, but then we really started to play our game.

“We saw Croatia go out and there are no easy opponents, we need to do everything we can to get through.”

France face Iceland on Sunday, July 3 with kick off at 8pm at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis.
