West Ham United captain Mark Noble believes this summer’s transfer window has been crazy with quality players costing over £30m.

The 29-year-old believes every club is in search of a prolific goal scorer as bids for players has saw his club priced out the market.

The Hammers signed Swansea’s Andre Ayew for a record £20m deal earlier this week and they are still hoping to add another with Andy Carroll remaining as the club’s leading striker.

“You know as well I do this transfer market is mental and I don’t think you can get a player now for less than £30m. Everyone is looking for that 20/25 goal striker,” he told Sky Sports News.

“We just have to keep players fit, if we had done that we would have had a right good go last year.”

Noble leads West Ham into a new season and a new home at the London Olympic Stadium.

The Hammers won their first competitive match at the ground as they beat NK Domzale 3-0 in the third round of Europa League qualifying.

Noble is hoping the players and the club can relish in the chance of making the stadium their new home.

“It’s incredible,” he added. “It’s massive – totally different to Upton Park. The stadium is much bigger. A lot more fans there.

“The atmosphere in the Europa League was tremendous, the lights were fantastic. If that’s what it’s going to be like for the whole of the season then I’m pretty sure it’s going to be fantastic.

“We have to pick up points, whether they are used to it or not somehow we have to find a way to win there, that might be ugly at points and just pick up three points because teams are going to come there now really excited to play there.

“The pitch is really big. We used to use Upton Park as a fortress and we are going to have to make the London Stadium like that and why can’t it be.”

This news comes after Hammers boss Slaven Bilic commented saying Noble has a chance to break into the England set-up this season.

Noble was overlooked by Roy Hodgson for England’s ill-fated Euro 2016 campaign but with former West Ham boss Sam Allardyce now in charge, Bilic believes he can take the final step into the team.

He told Sky Sports News: “He’s got everything, he’s at the best age and he’s captain of the club. He had a terrific season with many people – not only me – thinking he deserved to be in the squad.

“I didn’t see many midfield players have a season like he did last year.

“He has a manager now in Allardyce who knows how good and useful he can be, not only on the pitch but in the dressing room as well.

“But I have told all the players – like Aaron Cresswell and Andy Carroll – that they all have a chance but they will not into the England team because they had a good season last year; there is no yesterday in football.

“They have to play consistently well for West Ham or they are not going to play for England.”
