ANDY Hessenthaler said his side are prepared for another tough away fixture as Leyton Orient face Carlisle United on Saturday.

The O’s are unbeaten on the road, with one draw and two wins, and it is this record that propelled them up to seventh in the League Two table.

However, their home form has not lived up to standards as they have only accumulated three points out of a possible nine so far this season.

Hessenthaler said: “Home form has not been great and we are disappointed with that, but we are not too far off at home.

“The games that we have lost we have done well in them, but defensively as a group we haven’t done well enough.

“Also, in the other box we haven’t been taking our chances, if we get that right then I think we can get that momentum at home as well and keep that consistency going.”

Carlisle sit ninth in the table behind Orient on goal difference and the O’s will need to make a 305 mile trip for the fixture.

Hessenthaler added: “It is another tough long journey with the boys on the train but I think the train journey is the best way to go.

“It cuts down on traffic and you get there a lot quicker, we had a nice pleasant trip up on the Friday to Morecambe and as you say it will be a nice one next week.

“But again it’s another tough place to go and try and get a result, but we are more than capable of doing that.”

Callum Kennedy made his first start of the season after signing this summer from AFC Wimbledon and the left-back made an instant impact at the weekend.

Hessenthaler added: “I brought Callum (Kennedy) to the club as I know he has experience, he got promoted last year with Wimbledon and he is an experienced one.

“We need one like that when we come to places like Morecambe, and he has been disappointed that he has not played.

“Sandro Semedo had a good pre-season, he has got a bright future and we brought Callum back in, we saw a great response and to be fair he is a good professional anyway.

“He wants to show everyone he is a consistent performer in this group.”

However, although he was full of praise for the 26-year-old he said it was an entire team performance in their latest win.

“You can’t pick any individuals out. I thought one to 11 it was an all-round team performance,” said Hessenthaler.

“We said we’ve got to be hard to beat when we come away from home and if you look at us we do have that firepower.

“I feel we’ve definitely got that counter attacking football in us with the pace we have and when you come away from home you have to do that.

“I think with our units, the pace in wide areas and what Jordan does helps us a lot.”
