Leyton Orient and Carlisle United both kept their unbeaten runs alive at Brunton Park in Sky Bet League Two.

Paul McCallum and Harry Cornick both got on the scoresheet for the O’s as the loanee winger recorded his first goal for the club.

Charlie Wyke and Danny Grainger were the men to equalise for the Blues in order to remain level on points with Orient.

Orient boss Andy Hessenthaler will be hoping the O’s can translate their away form back at Brisbane Road as they face Yeovil.

The Blues were the ones who got the early chance and in the second minute Shaun Miller had a great shot on target but Tom Parkes defended well to deflect the ball out for a corner.

Carlisle once again should have been 1-0 up as Luke Joyce won a header in the penalty box and Mark Ellis had a good chance on the turn but he only found the side netting.

But the O’s had chances of their own and in the 8th minute Gavin Massey nicked the ball deep in the Carlisle half and the ball dropped for McCallum who fired a shot at the rushing Mark Gillespie.

Liam Kelly and Massey both had chances within 15 minutes with the former hitting the ball over the bar and the latter shot being saved by the Blues goalie.

Michael Raynes had two chances for the Cumbrians but failed to hit the ball into the back of the net after his first was deflected and his second went wide of the left post.

Kelly once again tried from 15-yards-out after Massey picked out the pass but he curls over when he had a bit more time to try a more calm and collected shot.

In what seemed to be one way traffic, Jamie Devitt whipped in a dangerous cross in the 35th minute and Shaun Miller came racing in but was unable to get a vital touch.

Jordan Bowery could have added a second to his tally in the 39th minute of the game when he was played in by McCallum but he stretched out to far and Gillespie made a vital save.

Orient eventually found their stride and McCallum eventually broke the deadlock after Bowery played the forward through on goal, he found space in box and the ball was in the back of the net before the stroke of half time.

Their lead however did not last long as Wyke came on to replace Michael Raynes and he made an instant impact as he scored from a Shaun Miller cross.

Ollie Palmer was played on by a lovely pass from Harry Cornick but he only managed to head his shot over.

Carlisle had a penalty appeal turned down after Wyke went down in the box after he was unmarked in the box but failed to get a shot away – a corner was given instead and it came to nothing.

Cornick with a piece of magic twists and turns at least three times just outside the box and fires home into the bottom corner in the 64th minute to put Orient back into the lead.

The Cumbrians should have equalised as Tom Miller found some space in the box in the 76th minute but his shot curled over the bar and minutes later he played in Wyke who could only prod his effort into the side netting.

Kelly was left to vent in frustration at referee Ben Toner after the ball hit the midfielder’s hand in what was a harsh decision and Danny Grainger converted the penalty.

There was five minutes added on but both sides defended well and both came away with the point.
