Wapping men came from behind to draw 3-3 against National League veterans Indian Gymkhana.

Wapping began aggressively but found themselves 1-0 down before last year’s captain Oliver Cooper threaded the ball through to Dave McLean for an easy tap-in.

Will Cairns, the club’s top goal scorer, calmly converted a penalty to put Wapping into the lead shortly after scoring their first.

But after two quick counter-attacks, the home side were ahead 3-2 against the run of play before Ian Kibble emerged from a goalmouth scramble to net the equaliser.

Wapping ladies showed their experience on an away trip to a youthful Cambridge University side as they won 3-2.

Captain Lucy Todd got the first goal with a little help from a Cambridge defender as the ball tipped into the back of the net to open the scoring.

The away side’s rolling substitutes on the forward line meant they continued to apply pressure and were rewarded with a second goal just before the first half ended through Kate O’Sullivan.

But the second half was a different story as Cambridge battled back, scoring their first through a deflection before a second goal followed soon after.

With ten minutes left on the clock, Lotta Paulus used an attack down the left-hand flank to display some silky skills and buried the ball into the Cambridge goal.

Old Loughtonians men beat Cambridge City Seconds 3-2 in the East Premier Division courtesy of a Shane Martin hat-trick.

Martin opened the scoring from the first attack of the game as he slotted the ball in at the back post after the team started in buoyant mood following a good week of training.

Loughts continued to work tirelessly and were full of energy and Martin’s next goal came in the second half which he coolly slotted home.

Harry Kempe was sent to the sin-bin but this did not derail Loughts as Martin completed his hat-trick with a neat finish.

Old Loughtonians ladies lost 2-0 against Ipswich in the East Premier as their quest to gain promotion back into the National League suffered a setback.

The ladies started off strongly as Venetia Bailey rampaged into the D to get a short corner but Alice Melvin narrowly missed the goal to convert the chance.

They continued their first half with some patches of fine passing and movement but the score at half time remained 0-0.

However, Ipswich upped their game in the second half as they gained two short corners which were duly converted to seal the win.

Crostyx ladies secured their first win of the season with a 2-0 win over Wapping Seconds in the Division One East League.

Styx took their chances and opened the scoring when Laura Feldman slipped the ball to Hannah Cole to beat the Wapping keeper.

Aoife Kelly kept a clean sheet thanks to some superb saves as Wapping tried to get back into the match but failed to make the most of their opportunities.

Cole made them pay when she scored her second following a well-worked routine led by Sophie Smith.

The Croystx men’s teams did not fare as well though, as both their first and second teams drew 2-2.

The Firsts drew with West Herts Thirds, while the Seconds could not overcome Old Southendians.

But the Thirds lost their game against East London Sixths 4-3 as they continue to struggle with their form.

Waltham Forest ladies firsts spurned a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 to Southend and Benfleet.

Philippa Leguen De Lacriox and Lucy Butcher were the scorers for Forest but the team did not take their chances and lost out to some quick breaks in the second half.

The ladies Seconds fared a little better than their club-mates by drawing 1-1 with County Wanderers.

They started the morning with 14 players before being down to 12 before they had arrived for the game.

Both sides fought hard in the first half before the Forest goalkeeper was adjudged by the umpire to have given away a penalty which was converted.

However, Forest found their equaliser in the last minute of the first half and they defended well to keep the contest level.

It was not a good day for the men’s thirds who fell to a 3-1 loss to Old Southendians.
