Leyton Orient lost 2-1 against unbeaten in five Luton Town as their barren run at Brisbane Road continued in a League Two fixture.

Goals from Danny Hylton and Cameron McGeehan was enough to seal the three points and succumb Orient to another defeat as they have not won in seven league matches.

Ollie Palmer finally ended the drought as he scored the Os first league goal since September 24.

Os boss Alberto Cavasin will need to ensure his side do not spurn their chances and capitalise on them as they travel to Hartlepool next Saturday.

Orient started with a bit of pressure from the off but they were unable to capitalise and it was safe in the hands of Luton keeper Christian Walton.

Luton’s Jordan Cook put in a decent cross in the sixth minute but it was well cleared by Yvan Erichot.

Three minutes letter club captain Nicky Hunt gets back well to stop an on rushing Jack Marriot from getting any touch of the ball with a great tackle.

Ollie Palmer received the first chance of the game as he nearly gave the hosts the lead as he headed the ball wide from six yards after a glorious cross from Hunt.

Cameron McGeehan had a good effort blocked by Alex Cisak as Jordan Cook passed it to the edge of the Orient box where the former took a shot before it went out for a corner.

Alan Sheehan had to dig deep to thwart an Orient attack as Gavin Massey cut down from the right but the defender was there to clear.

And things didn’t any better for the home side as Alex Gilliead picked out Marriot in the box and Cisak saves but the ball rolled out and McGeehan was there for the follow up.

Jay Simpson, who scored 25 goals last season, looked to respond immediately but he was denied on two occasions from blocks by the Luton defence and a big call for hand wall was waved away by referee Trevor Kettle.

Six minutes before the break Luton’s Marriott drilled the ball in from the left and got to the other side of the Orient box before his shot was deflected for a corner.

But the Os did not give in as Massey passed the ball to Sandro Semedo whose shot was easily saved by Walton.

Nigel Atangana was the first player who gave it a go but he could not keep the ball down and he fired over the bar just before Simpson tried the same.

It was all Orient as chance after chance came for the Os at E10 but they just could not convert them into the back of the net.

And the play of the game went to Cisak after Marriott beat Nicky Hunt down the left of the pitch and Cisak pushes onto the post as Cook got there first to get the rebound but Cisak palmed the ball away and Orient cleared the danger.

Semedo had a chance to find the equaliser as Palmer flicked the ball and the former took a touch before he drilled a right footed shot at Walton.

Stephen O’Donnell tried to double the visitors lead but his shot was comfortably saved by Cisak.

Substitute Paul McCallum made a superb pass to Palmer who rifled a shot from the edge of the area which was parried away by Walton.

And things got even worse for the Os as Luton doubled their lead through Hylton with an emphatic strike from inside the area.

But the Os finally ended their drought as they found the back of the net through Palmer rolled the ball home via the post following McCallum’s cut-back.

Hylton tried to make it three as he wriggled past Erichot and Hunt in the box but his ferocious shot was tipped over by Cisak.

The Palmer goal was a mere consolation as the Os players dropped to the floor at half time as they look defeated in all aspects as chants of Becchetti Out sound the Matchroom once again.
