Leyton Orient were once again defeated at the weekend as they lost 2-1 at home to Luton Town as individual errors cost them.

Goals from Cameron McGeehan and Danny Hylton was enough to seal the three points for the Hatters.

Ollie Palmer missed a sitter in the 13th minute which could have ultimately changed the momentum from the game as he failed to find the target from six yards as Christian Walton was beat.

Alex Cisak made a fine save to deny the Hatters 11 minutes after McGeehan got on the end of a neat Jordan Cook free-kick.

But the deadlock was finally broken after Jay Simpson was robbed in his own half by Jack Marriot who then advanced on goal whose shot was initially blocked by Cisak.

But somehow the ball rolled free to McGeehan who slotted into the empty net and they doubled their advantage on the 74th minute when Marriot and Hylton combined before the later bagged his eighth goal of the campaign.

Palmer, who dedicated his goal to his 9-year-old cousin Frankie, gave the Os a lifeline when his shot went in courtesy of the post but it was to no avail as Orient have failed to win in seven games.

Alex Cisak 6

Made some vital saves to keep his side in the game but was unlucky for McGeehan’s goal as the ball rolled out from underneath him.

Callum Kennedy 5

Didn’t see much of Kennedy but he did provided some fast crosses into the box when asked.

Tom Parkes 5

Defended well when needed too and did not seem to panic when Luton broke on the counter attack.

Yvan Erichot 5

The French defender still has a lot to learn in English football but he has shown some progression over the last couple of weeks.

Nicky Hunt 6

He took the captain armband this week due to Robbie Weir being suspended and Liam Kelly out with a thigh injury, Hunt stepped up and made some great tackles to deny Luton in the first half.

Nigel Atangana 7

Easily one of the best men on the pitch as he showed spark and get go in the midfield. Still lacks full fitness due to lack of game time but first game back and received Man of the Match.

Gavin Massey 5

Massey showed a lot of promise at the start of the season but he seems to have tailed off – it could be due to the poor run of form the Os have been on.

Jens Janse 4

The Netherlands midfielder has had a tough start to his time at E10. He was sent off in his first match against Plymouth and needs to settle in more in midfield.

Sandro Semedo 6

The 19-year-old has struggled as of late but finds himself most comfortable on the left hand-side of the pitch – he did well to get down the wing on Saturday and provided some slick crosses.

Jay Simpson 5

Simpson has not found his 25 goals form from last season as of yet – getting a goal will ease the pressure off him. Was at fault for the first goal.

Ollie Palmer 7

Had he not missed the open goal in the first half the game could have been a lot different. He dedicated his goal to his cousin and broke Orient’s drought from September 24.
