It has been a mixed bag of results for Essex Senior League side Wadham Lodge after they recorded their first win in almost a month before losing 1-0 to Ilford on Saturday.

It was the first game in charge for new joint bosses James Falaise and Kevin Lucas, named last week as the successors to Neil Day.

The only goal was scored by Christopher Stevens in the 17th minute.

In their midweek game last Tuesday, Lodge secured a 2-1 victory over Stansted, who are fifth in the table.

The sides were level at the break with goals from Jack Hayes, after two minutes and Larry Asare.

Vladut Gabriel Sighiatau scored the goal which cemented the club’s fifth win of the season.

ESL compatriots Waltham Forest also had a topsy-turvy week as they lost 3-2 at FC Romania on Saturday.

A Harry Larner double was not enough for Forest as goals from Ionut Danila, Andrei Pavel and Florin Pop cancelled his efforts out.

In their midweek match, Waltham drew 2-2 with London Bari, scoring the equaliser two minutes before the final whistle. Brian Moses and Ahmed Mohammed scored the goals.
