London Falcons missed out on a spot in the quarter-finals of the Essex Alliance League Premier Division Cup on Saturday as they lost 3-1 to Jolof Sports.

Seb Gardener was on target for Falcons but strikes from Sergine Mbengue, Jeffrey Cobblah and Modou Jammeh sealed their defeat.

In the Division Two Cup, Ryan Reserves were on fine form, cruising to a comprehensive 5-0 win over Avondale Rangers.

The victory saw Ryan book their place in the last eight of the competition where they face Colebrook Royals Reserves.

Kitroom FC enjoyed similarly serene progress in the Division Three Cup with a 5-1 thumping of Flyers.

The comprehensive victory was secured by goals from Justin Cummings, Robert Crane, Hristo Sirakov, Lewis McCarthy and Mohamed Kidia.

Kitroom can now look forward to a semi-final tie as they aim to win the competition in their debut year in the tournament.

Away from the cup action, free-scoring Old Esthameians continued their fine form in front of goal to trounce United London 8-1 in the Premier Division.

Danny Morgan set the tone for his side with an impressive hat-trick, while Neil Robinson and debutant Scott Perkins notched braces.

Sam Paterson completed the scoring for Esthameians to earn a win which takes them up to third, a point behind United.

Grove United maintained their hopes of catching the top sides with a dominant 8-2 victory over Rainham Working Mens Club.

Harry Chalk was undeniably the star performer for Grove as he struck five times in a man-of-the-match display.

He was ably assisted by Bill Rungay, who scored a hat-trick. Lee Alger and Matt Humpheys were on target for Rainham.

In Division One, an improved display from St John’s Deaf FC was not enough to prevent Colebrook Royals extending their unbeaten record.

Daniel Alley scored for St John’s, but they still fell to a 2-1 defeat as Colebrook moved five points clear at the top of the league.

Ferns Seniors came out on the wrong side of a nine-goal thriller as Lee Niven’s hat-trick and Jamie Redington’s goals were not enough in the 5-4 loss.

Two goals from Ken Wampamba added to Vaselin Vasilev’s strike to condemn St Francis to a 3-1 loss against Kitgum Boys.

Meanwhile, East Ham ran out 2-0 winners against Singh Sabha Barking in Newbury Park to climb to seventh in the Division.

Finally, Forest Green took full advantage of the top two sides not playing to close the gap at the summit of Division Two with a 6-2 win over Inter Plaistow.
