West Ham United goalkeeper Darren Randolph played the full 90 minutes for the Republic of Ireland last night, who were held by Austria at the Aviva Stadium.

Martin O’Neil’s men looked like they were on course for their first defeat in their World Cup 2018 qualifying campaign, after Martin Hinteregger’s strike put Austria in front in the 31st minute.

However, Jonathan Walters popped up to equalise five minutes from time to secure a point, which moved the Republic of Ireland to the top of Group D.

The game meant Randolph picked up his 22nd cap for his country.

Elsewhere, the Hammers’ Andre Ayew was in action for Ghana, who kicked off their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign in style with a 5-0 win over Ethiopia.

The result moved Ghana to the top of their qualifying group and also saw former Sunderland man Asamoah Gyan score his 50th goal for his country.
