Leyton Orient have agreed to the sale of Steven Alzate and Tristan Abrahams, with the youngsters joining Brighton &Hove Albion and Norwich City respectively.

Alzate’s move sees him make a big step up as he moves to a Seagulls side which secured promotion to the Premier League last season.

Having graduated through the club’s youth system, the midfielder signed his first professional deal with the O’s in September 2016.

He made 12 appearances last season, scoring one goal, and will continue his development as part of Brighton’s development squad.

The seaside club have paid an undisclosed fee for the 18-year-old, who put pen to paper on a deal which keeps him at the Amex Stadium until 2020.

Meanwhile, Abrahams has secured a move to Championship side Norwich – also for an undisclosed fee.

Similarly to Alzate, Abrahams made his senior breakthrough last season and impressed by scoring twice in nine League Two outings.

The deal sees the 18-year-old loaned back to the Brisbane Road club for the 2017/18 season, but he will be allowed to train with the Canaries and represent their Under-23s side.

He is understandably delighted to have secured the transfer and took the chance to thank Orient for the role the club has played in his development.

He told the club website: “Signing for Norwich is a great opportunity and what I believe to be the right move for my career.

“Orient is a Club that I will always hold close to my heart and I am extremely grateful for the help and support I have been given from such a young age.

“I was handed a fantastic chance last season in difficult circumstances, but the fans were so supportive during that time and I would like to thank them for that.

“I am pleased to be staying here on loan, and while I continue to wear the shirt I will give everything I have got to this Football Club.”
