Ruel Sotiriou grabbed a second half goal for the O’s XI to tie the scores at 1-1 after they had gone behind to a 43rd minute penalty.

Assistant coach Ross Embleton took charge of the match, which saw many youngsters given a chance to impress.

The O’s struggled to create many chances in the first half but went close through Sam Dalby in the 35th minute as he got on the end of fine move.

Sam Sergeant was adjudged to have have tripped a U’s forward just before the break and there was no mistake from the spot to give Cambridge a half-time lead.

Orient levelled in the 55th minute when Dalby released Sotiriou who played the ball under the U’s keeper.

Equality lasted just a matter of minutes, though, when a Cambridge corner was headed in for the winner.
