Leyton Orient’s National League clash with Halifax Town has been called off due to a frozen pitch.
The decision was taken after a pitch inspection at the Shay took place at 10.30am this morning and found the surface to be unplayable.
Orient will now work with Halifax and the National League towards rescheduling the fixture and aim to do so quickly.
O’s boss Justin Edinburgh was understandably disappointed the game didn’t go ahead and thanked those supporters who made the journey north.
He said: “Obviously I am disappointed and I am sure the fans are as well. Hopefully not too many have made the journey overnight and the ones coming this morning are not too far along on their journey.
“It is a huge disappointment and again thanks to everyone who made the journey up here to support us. Unfortunately it has been taken out of our hands and the game has been called off.”
