Tottenham Hotspur’s 2018/19 Premier League campaign will commence with a trip to St James’ Park to face Newcastle United on Saturday, August 11 in a 3pm kick-off.

The fixtures for next season were released this morning and Spurs will play their first home game of the campaign against Fulham at Wembley.

Spurs were hoping to be in their new stadium for the start of the new campaign but work has overrun, meaning they will return to the national stadium for the London derby against the newly-promoted Cottagers on August 18.

Their club have confirmed that the first game at their rebuilt home will be against Liverpool on September 15.

Boss Mauricio Pochettino told the club's official website: "We are so excited to have the date of the first Premier League match at our new stadium.

"We discussed the timings and the ability to play away games and I think it is a good solution to have an earlier home game.

"Wembley was great for us last season and we are even more used to that than we are the new stadium.

"We are excited about the season ahead and making the new stadium our new home. I have stood inside the bowl and I know the atmosphere will be unbelievable - it will be well worth the wait."

Pochettino's men will travel to Manchester United on August 25 in what looks to be an early season test of Tottenham’s title credentials.

September’s standout fixture sees Spurs host Liverpool in the first game at their new stadium on Saturday, September 15, a match that looks likely to be rescheduled for television coverage.

Champions Manchester City head south on October 27, while London rivals Chelsea travel to Spurs on November 24.

All eyes will then turn to the first North London derby of the season on December 1, as Tottenham travel to face an Arsenal side not managed by Arsene Wenger for the first time in 22 years.

That, as always, is a fixture to relish, with new Gunners boss Unai Emery set to experience his first taste of the occasion at the Emirates in a 3pm kick-off that will certainly be televised.

Boxing Day sees the visit of south-coast club Bournemouth to Spurs’ new home at 3pm, before an unwelcome trip to newly-promoted Cardiff City on New Year’s Day.

The first big test of January sees Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United side complete the return fixture with a visit to Tottenham’s new home on January 12, before back-to-back games at the end of February and beginning of March against Chelsea (a) in mid-week on Wednesday, February 27, and Arsenal (h) on Saturday March 2.

Trips to Liverpool on March 30 (3pm) and Manchester City on April 20 (3pm) will surely be pivotal in deciding Champions League placings as Pochettino’s side go in search of bettering their third place finish in 2017-18.

Spurs then conclude their Premier League campaign with a home game against Marco Silva’s Everton side on May 12.
