Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama has been linked with a move away from the north Londoners, amid reports in Germany that suggest Borussia Dortmund are preparing a bid for the 26-year old.
Wanyama endured a frustrating second year having missed the first half of the campaign through injury, and only featuring primarily from the bench in the second half of the season.
Now Bundesliga giants Dortmund appear keen to launch a surprise move to test the club’s willingness to retain the player.
The Kenyan is rated at upwards of £50 million and Mauricio Pochettino is unlikely to be willing to part with one of his prized assets without a fight.
With Spurs once again facing the prospect of European commitments in the form of the Champions League next season, the club are more likely to be keen to strengthen the squad than downsize.
Daniel Levy is unlikely to be pressured into selling either, with Wanyama currently contracted to the club until 2021, and any move may be off the table altogether should fellow midfielder Mousa Dembele move on this summer.
