ORIENT defender Charlie Daniels has spoken of his delight at being given the chance of regular football during his loan spell at Brisbane Road, writes Alex Sexton.
Coming towards the end of his season long loan from Tottenham, Daniels has spoken highly of the club, the fans and the staff.
He said: "I'm pleased Orient gave me the chance to come and play first team football and I have certainly developed, it's been very beneficial.
"It's a good club to play for. The manager encourages you to play football and doesn't want it lumped upfield, it's the way I've been taught. I have enjoyed it so much, the crowd have been fantastic as well.
"The main aim was to get first team football, so to have about 30 games under my belt and play well is pleasing."
The 21-year-old remains unsure of his future at Spurs under new coach Juande Ramos. "I'm still contracted to Spurs and don't know what is going to happen. I have another year left on my contract so we will have to wait and see."
However, Daniels is encouraged by Ramos' willingness to blood young talent. He continued: "He has brought a couple of youngsters through, Jamie O'Hara is in my year and Adel Taarabt has been on the bench a few times. But, during the summer window you don't know what is going to happen."
