Villa eye Tottenham duo

TOTTENHAM fans could be on the verge of seeing two of their England international stars leaving White Hart Lane, writes Alex Sexton.

Reports are circulating that Aston Villa coach Martin O'Neill is lining up bids for Spurs' midfield duo Aaron Lennon and Tom Huddlestone.

New boss Juande Ramos is widely expected to have a summer clear out and the two youngsters could be viewed as surplus to requirements.

The Spaniard has publicly criticised some of Lennon's recent performances and even though the pacy winger has featured in 29 games for the North Londoners this season, it is expected that he will be a casualty of the Ramos Revolution.

21-year-old Huddlestone has been a regular fixture in the side in recent months, but there is still a chance that the Spurs coach may be willing to sell in order to raise extra funds to bring in the players on his wish-list.

The Birmingham Mail has suggested that the Villa manager will be waiting in the wings if either player becomes available over the summer.

They would join a strong English contingent at Villa Park, as O'Neill already has Gabriel Agbonlahor, Gareth Barry and Ashley Young at his disposal.
