ARSENE WENGER has issued an ultimatum to unsettled star Mathieu Flamini, stating that he must make his mind up by the end of this week regarding the offer of a new contract.

Flamini has attracted the interest of Italian sides Juventus and AC Milan after establishing himself as a key figure in the Arsenal team, but he is out of contract at the end of the season, and is yet to decide if he will remain at the Emirates.

"The deadline is next week, the end of April," Wenger told the club's website. "I said it would be the end of April and that will be it.

"I believe he wants to stay and we want him to stay. We have made him an offer, if it's not good enough we will know soon."

The Gunners' deal is thought to dwarf what the Italians can offer, but Wenger insists the contract on the table is a good deal.

"I respect our wages structure. We do not play - a little bit more, a little bit more. We have made an offer. We think it is decent and that is it."

Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti has admitted he is fan of the midfielder, sparking speculation that they will make an offer for the French international.

"He is an excellent player," Ancelotti said. "When he played against us, he showed great dynamism and ability. Someone like him would be of use to any side.

"And, seeing as he will be out of contract, that would be an excellent signing for us."
