BARCELONA legend Hristo Stoichkov has called for his former club to sign fellow countryman Dimitar Berbatov.
The Spurs forward has been consistently linked with a move away from White Hart Lane, with Manchester United, Chelsea, AC Milan and Barcelona all reported to be interested.
And former Bulgarian international Stoichkov - who scored 83 goals for the Catalan club during two spells at the Nou Camp in the 1990s - has implored Barca to splash the cash on the wantaway striker.
"If I was Barcelona president, I would sign Berbatov straightaway," Stoichkov (pictured) told Sport ES.
Spurs have already been linked with Barcelona's Samuel Eto'o as a replacement.
The Cameroon star has become disillusioned with events at the club following accusations from the fans that he deliberately got himself booked in order to miss the Real Madrid game.
