TOTTENHAM are believed to be on the verge of signing Anton Ferdinand.

The West Ham defender is rumoured to have been on Spurs' wanted hitlist for some time and, according to the Daily Mail, he is now all set to move across London from Upton Park to White Hart Lane for £6million.

The Lilywhites have concerns over Ledley King's long-term fitness, while Younes Kaboul and Michael Dawson have so far failed to impress boss Juande Ramos.

Having missed out on Richard Dunne - who has decided to stay at Manchester City - Spurs see Ferdinand as the ideal central defensive partner for Jonathan Woodgate.

Ferdinand is the longest-serving member of the Hammers squad. He has made over 150 appearances since making his full debut in August 2003.
