SPURS TALK: Everton lead Spurs in chase for Zaragoza forward

4:28pm Tuesday 8th July 2008

TOTTENHAM will have to battle it out with Everton in order to capture Argentinian forward Diego Milito.

In a transfer merry-go-round which is dependant on the futures of Dimitar Berbatov and Andy Johnson, it may be down to which club can shift their striker first.

With interest fading in Berbatov but rising in Johnson, it is now believed that David Moyes has the upper hand in attracting Milito from Real Zaragoza.

The 28-year-old has been linked with Juande Ramos' side all summer as the Spaniard looks to reinforce his attacking line-up.

However, with Spurs stalling on an offer, the Toffees may sneak in and make a of £8 million to the Spanish side.

Milito has scored 51 goals in 108 games for Zaragoza and also netted four times in 14 games for his country.
