SPURS TALK: Tottenham agree £28m fee with United for Berbatov

5:04pm Monday 14th July 2008

TOTTENHAM have agreed to sell star striker Dimitar Berbatov to Manchester United for £28 million.

The Premier League champions' £20 million bid for the 27-year-old was knocked back by Spurs last week, and they have since offered a final take-it-or-leave-it offer of £25 million.

However, the north Londoners appear to have squeezed at least £3 million more out of the deal which, according to the Daily Telegraph, would see United paying £18 million up front with the rest payable upon success-related clauses and appearances.

Berbatov has been angling for a move to Old Trafford for some time and Spurs boss Juande Ramos has been resigned to losing him all summer.

If the deal does go through, it will end the Bulgarian's two-season stint with the Lilywhites.
