ARSENAL TALK: Van Persie wants talks over a new deal

HOT on the heels of Emmanuel Adebayor's new double-your money contract fellow Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie also wants to re-open talks about a new deal at the Emirates.

Togo frontman Adebayor is believed to have seen his weekly pay packet rocket to a reported £80,000-a-week following a summer of speculation linking him with a move to either AC Milan or Barcelona.

And it now seems his Dutch strike partner would like some pay parity, and is angling to open negotiations with the Gunners board.

The 25-year-old is however yet to fully prove himself in London following a string of injuries over the last two years, although manager Arsene Wenger will clearly want to hold onto his services.

“I was in talks before the Euros but, hopefully, we can sit down together one of these days again,” Vane Persie told the Sun.

“That is my intention — always to commit to the club. I love this club, it is a great team.

“Like me, I love to play lots of combination football, so I am in the right place.”
