ARSENAL skipper William Gallas reckons the 2-0 victory at FC Twente in the Champions League preliminary round was a "huge result".

And now he has called upon his team mates to finish the tie off.

The organised Dutch outfit coached by former England boss Steve McLaren - made it difficult for the Gunners throughout.

But second half goals from Gallas and Emmanuel Adebayor has put the north Londoners firmly in the driving seat.

Now French defender Gallas has urged his team not to slip up in the second leg at the Emirates Stadium next week.

"I scored the first goal of my season during this trip to Twente - for sure it’s intense pleasure, but the most important thing was first of all winning this game," Gallas told his personal website.

"We expected a tough game and suffered during the first half because they put us under pressure.

"They seemed more tired after the break and we took advantage of it. And even if a 2-0 away win in a European cup game is a huge result.

"We have to finish the work off at home."
