TOTTENHAM'S relentless search for a new striker could see the club make a shock move for Emile Heskey, according to reports.

The Wigan and England forward has emerged as a £10million target for the north Londoners, who expect Dimitar Berbatov to complete his switch to Manchester United within the next few days.

Should the Bulgarian depart White Hart Lane, boss Juande Ramos would have Darren Bent as his only recognised senior striker.

Club officials are reportedly due to meet representatives of Russian star Andrei Arshavin in London this week to push through a move for the player.

But Ramos acknowledges that he needs two extra strikers on board following the disappointing start to the season.

And, according to the Sun, he is refusing to rule out a move for former Leicester, Liverpool and Birmingham man Heskey.
