ARSENE Wenger admits he is 'amazed' by how quickly striker Eduardo is recovering from injury and insists he is 'ahead of schedule.'
The Arsenal boss had originally predicted that the Croatia international could be back in action by Christmas, but according to his latest comments, that date could be brought forward considerably.
"Eduardo is progressing amazingly quickly," the Frenchman told the club's official website. "He should be ahead of schedule let’s say."
Eduardo suffered a horrific leg-break in the game against Birmingham City in February last year under a challenge from Martin Taylor.
Arsenal's injury list is still considerable, with four key players still out. New boy Mikael Silvestre is the nearest to recovery, while Abou Diaby and Tomas Rosicky are still some way from returning to the line-up.
"The closest is Silvestre," said Wenger. "He should be available after the international break. Abou Diaby, for me, is three weeks away. We don’t really know about Tomas Rosicky yet."
