ARSENAL goal hero Robin van Persie was happy to help the Gunners over their Hull disaster with a two-goal salvo in the 4-0 drubbing over Porto.
The north Londoners were back to their free-flowing best as they secured a comprehensive victory in the Champions League.
And a delighted Van Persie said: “We wanted to bounce back from the Hull game, that was the idea.
"Everybody was really disappointed after losing against Hull. But this was a good day.
“We knew we had to make it up to the fans and make it right.
“We played well and it was a deserved win.”
And despite the nature of Arsenal's victory, the Dutch striker isn't reading anything into this stunning result.
He continued: “This is only our second game in the competition. There are still many more games to go. It’s too early to say what it means.”
