FORMER Spurs boss Christian Gross has leapt to the defence of under fire manager Juande Ramos and has urged the club to keep faith with the Spaniard.
Gross, who now manages Swiss outfit Basel, endured a torrid spell at White Hart Lane after taking over in 1997 before he was eventually relieved of his duties by then chairman Alan Sugar just nine months later.
Having experienced his own problems with the British media, the Swiss boss admitted he sympathises with Ramos' situation at Spurs, with a number of reports suggesting the former Sevilla coach has just four games to save his job, with the club lying two points adrift at the foot of the Premier League after six games.
Gross said: “I can imagine how Ramos is feeling. Living and working in that sort of environment is not easy. I think he must feel very isolated.”
“Spurs are not doing so well but they have a fantastic manager.
“Everybody at Spurs has to back him. They must help him win games.”
