FORMER Gunners star Freddie Ljungberg is set to join the growing posse of players emigrating to America's Major League Soccer game by signing for the Seattle Sounders.
The Swede, who spent nine trophy-laden years with the Gunners between 1998 and 2007, was released from his contract at West Ham by Alan Curbishley in August this year and has decided to join the likes of David Beckham and Landon Donovan across the pond.
The 31-year-old will join the Sounders when they kick off their debut season in the MLS on March 31, while he is expected to be unveiled by the club as early as tomorrow.
Club president Gary Wright said: “Freddie’s a fantastic player who has a lot more to offer.”
