DAGENHAM & Redbridge boss John Still praised his players' efforts after last night's goalless draw with League Two leaders Bournemouth.

The Daggers more than held their own at Dean Court, with Paul Benson's shot the closest either side came to a breakthrough, but goalkeeper Shwan Jalal was up to the task.

After Saturday's 2-1 defeat at home to Rochdale, Dagenham could not afford to suffer a second loss on the bounce to one of the division's top sides.

The point keeps them in touch with the top of the table, although it also meant they dropped out of the automatic promotion places for the first time in a number of weeks.

Still was impressed with his team's battling qualities. "It was a tough night to play football and this is a very difficult place to come so I am pleased with the point,” he said.

"Not many teams come here and get the better of Bournemouth but I thought the second half we looked the more dangerous side and the side more likely to nick the win.

"They are a very good side though as their league position shows but we proved that we are a top side too so I am very pleased with our efforts."

Darren Currie made his debut for the Daggers on Tuesday, starting alongside another loan signing Adam Miller in the centre of midfield.

The veteran midfielder joined the Victoria Road outfit for a month this week, although the club have the option of making the deal permanent in January.
