DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE slipped to tenth in League Two after a moment of brilliance from defender John Johnson saw Northampton take all three points.

The Daggers are now five points off the play-off places that they have occupied for so long this season.

New signing Damien McCrory and Peter Gain forced the best out of Town keeper Chris Dunn and the pair also came close at the death. But by that time the hosts were already one down, as Johnson’s shot from the edge of the box had put the visitors ahead 20 minutes from time.
