WALTHAM Abbey recorded a rare win in the Ryman League Premier Division on Saturday, when they ran out 4-2 winners.
The surprise result at promotion-chasing Wealdstone was the first time Abbey have ever won that fixture.
And it will give them much hope for a busy week ahead.
They have four matches in eight days.
On Saturday, Greg Alzapiedi’s team host Carshalton Athletic. They then entertain Bognor Regis on Tuesday, before a trip to Maidstone United on Thursday.
Sadly, Saturday's fine win had little effect on the table.
Abbey still sit bottom, but at least a little closer to their relegation-threatened rivals.
Abbey can also be buoyed by the way they fought back from 2-0 down, hitting four goals in the second half.
A brace from James Elmes, and one each for Billy Holland and Andy Keepence sealed the three points.
