ORIENT: Boss thanks for 'let down' fans after home defeat

“A shambles” was how Geraint Williams described Orient after the 2-0 defeat to Huddersfield Town, yesterday.

And Os boss Williams thanked “let down” home fans for sticking around until the final whistle, at Brisbane Road.

“I think that individually and as a group, there just wasn’t enough quality” he said.

“Today we looked a shambles in the first half. We were calling for off-sides so often which weren’t given. That’s not us, we hold a better defensive line than that.

“For us at home to only get a shot on target in the 94th minute, that hasn’t happened while I’ve been here.

“I’m not sure there was that belief on the pitch after that second goal, that we would get back into the game” he reflected.

“I’d like to thank the fans today. They were magnificent and we let them down a bit.”

Orient were rolled over at home by the Yorkshire visitors, whose performance was superior in every single department.

“You have to give Huddersfield credit, they’re a very good side” Williams said.

“We started off knowing what we wanted to do and push them back into their 18 yard box, and they wanted to push us back into ours.

"They won the battle of wills. We looked more like the away side.”
