AVRAM Grant's first battle as West Ham boss could revolve around the potential signing of Lyon striker Frederic Piquionne, who is also being pursued by Fulham, say reports.
It was thought Grant would be able to entice the French striker to Upton Park, following his announcement as the Hammers new boss, given that he worked with the 31-year-old during his loan spell at Portsmouth.
The Daily Mirror claim Fulham boss Roy Hodgson has agreed a £2million deal with Lyon for Piquionne, although Grant is likely to rival that offer.
Piquionne scored 11 goals for Pompey last season and is understood to be determined to remain in England.
