THE controversial move by Spurs to field a side comprised of players from the White Hart Lane kinder-garden was no problem for Orient boss, Russell Slade.

He said after the 2-2 draw on Wednesday evening: “I know this was a young Spurs side, but they had plenty of ability and they made us work and made us run. It was a great work-out.”

“I knew it would be a strong side whatever they put out, as they have a good number of professionals with real quality.”

“It would have been nice for our fans to see one or two more regular first team players, but that wasn’t the case. But they acquitted themselves well and it was a balanced match” said Slade.

“We settled into the game after 10 minutes and I thought we played some nice stuff at times and made some chances. I think we hit the woodwork about four times on the night, so that was pleasing.”
